Throughout the campaign, and since Alex Borg was appointed leader, it was clear that AI was one the main sources of inspiration for the PN team. And recently, the PN, in what it self-termed as a ‘legacy project’ and a ‘gift’ for the culture sector in Malta, has proposed the building of a National Hall to be the new home of the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra. The multimillion euro facility had to have the capacity to house 1,700 people.

To give credibility to the proposal the PN also issued a promotion video with an artistic impression of how the inner Marsa area will be transformed with this project.

Big problem.

The design seems to be a carbon copy of a proposal for the ‘Museum of Architecture and Design’ in Helsinki, Finland. Would you believe that a political party that is aspiring to govern a country just stole a design owned by a prestigious architectural firm, potentially worth hundreds of thousands of euro, and plastered it in the middle of Marsa all the way from Helsinki? No, right? But seems they did.

And although this may sound petty at face value, it isn’t. The PN’s approach to the  campaign has been amateurish at best. Figures that don’t add up, proposals that are not technically possible, experts that claim to be engineers when they aren’t, and now architectural plagiarism of the highest level.

We ask, is this the example a political party should give to Malta’s youngest generation, promise everything to everyone, fudge things up, copy as much as you can, and then see what happens eventually?

Pretty obvious that it’s a big no no, right?
