As election day approaches, it is becoming clearer with each passing day that the Nationalist Party is nothing more than a coalition of uncertainty, indecision, and disunity.

The Nationalist Party lacks a clear vision or a united direction as it continues to drift from one position to another. Today’s mistakes make yesterday’s seem trivial. Proposals that are disjointed, a lottery of miscalculated freebies, no experts’ back-up, and so called star candidates falsely posing as engineers to try to justify the unjustifiable.

A party uncertain of its own path cannot confidently lead the Maltese islands forward. The signs, though not so clear, were already there when the Nationalist Party chose Bernard Grech’s successor. Back then, in the run up to the Nationalist Party leadership Adrian Delia had Alex Borg’s word that there won’t be any contest between the two friends. Delia may well have thought he would be the sole contender for the throne that very few wanted. But pushed by the blue hero faction Alex Borg clinched a wafer thin majority, and the hand of those that helped him, is now all over the PN campaign.

It is indeed back to past with Gonzi PN looming in the shadows and his acolytes as the key strategists behind the Nationalist manifesto. Yes, back to the Gonzi years as the coalition of confusion merges with a new rebranding with the coalition of undecided.

Potentially imagine a duo with Alex Borg as Prime Minister and AdrianDelia Minister for Finance.
