Minister for Home Affairs and Security Glenn Bedingfield officially launched the 2026 Beach Patrols initiative, which will once again see LESA Community Officers deployed across some of Malta’s busiest beaches throughout the summer season. The initiative aims to strengthen public safety, promote cleanliness and maintain good order in public spaces.

The Beach Patrols will operate from 4 July until 30 August, every Saturday, Sunday and Public Holiday, between 10:00 and 18:00. Community Officers will be stationed at Mellieħa Bay (Għadira), Għajn Tuffieħa, Golden Bay, Buġibba Perched Beach, Qawra Point, St George’s Bay in St Julian’s, Balluta Bay, Fond Għadir, Fajtata Bay, St Thomas Bay, Pretty Bay and St George’s Bay in Birżebbuġa.

Addressing the launch, Minister Glen Bedingfield said that the Government remains committed to investing in initiatives that strengthen prevention, enhance public safety and improve the quality of life within communities.
