Over the past three years, the Government has reaffirmed its commitment to mental health and the dignity of patients through substantial investment in Monte Carmeli Hospital.

As the facility continues to provide essential services on a daily basis, it remains crucial to maintain a safe, modern environment that meets both the therapeutic needs of patients and the working requirements of healthcare professionals.

Minister for Health and Active Ageing, Joe Etienne Abela was quoted as saying that investment has been made in the maintenance and modernisation of the hospital’s infrastructure, with expenditure reaching €7,465,000 over this period.

This investment not only addresses the facility’s immediate needs but also reflects a broader vision aimed at improving the quality of care, strengthening rehabilitation services, and creating a more humane and dignified environment for everyone who is admitted to this institution.
