Malta’s strong economic performance under successive Labour governments has continued to translate into tangible benefits for families, with substantial tax reductions and improved household finances.

From 2013 to today, the Labour Government has distributed €820 million in tax cuts to families.

Thanks to the economic model employed by the Labour Government, the economy is generating more wealth. Prime Minister
Robert Abela explained on Sunday that, among other improvements, Malta now has less than half the number of families that,
ten years ago, depended on social assistance. He recalled how, under a Labour Government from 2013 to today, Maltese and
Gozitan families have benefited from €820 million in tax cuts, as well as nearly €1.25 billion in reduced income tax and stamp
duty on property.

The Prime Minister stated that the Opposition must decide its position and stop playing the game of having one foot in and one foot out. At one moment, it proposes an idea that would require bringing in around 50,000 foreign workers to compensate for a reduced workday, and then it claims that localities with foreign residents are shocking.
He noted that the Nationalist Party did not respond when asked where exactly it would reduce the number of foreign workers,
with the person most responsible for fomenting anti-foreigner sentiment, Dr Adrian Delia, acting as the party’s de facto leader,
despite also representing the largest group of companies employing foreign workers in Malta.
As the Government remains focused on advancing the interests of Maltese families, the Opposition continues to present
contradictions and disjointed ideas that run counter to one another.
