Minister Silvio Schembri has launched the Credit Review Office, a new initiative in Malta designed to support businesses, self-employed individuals, and entrepreneurs while strengthening trust and transparency in the financial sector.

“We believe in every business, every self-employed person, and every entrepreneur,” declared Minister Silvio Schembri at the launch of the Credit Review Office. Strong economies are built on solid foundations supported by well-functioning institutions. 

The Credit Review Office has been established to improve communication and provide mediation between commercial banks and businesses in matters related to bank loans. It will assist businesses and self-employed individuals seeking banking services related to loans by helping them understand which documents are required and how long the loan application process is expected to take.

The office will also act as a mediator in cases where a loan application is declined. The establishment of the Credit Review Office represents a concrete step forward in strengthening trust and transparency within the financial sector. 

This initiative aligns with the long-term vision outlined in Malta Vision 2050, which aims to build an economy based on opportunities that benefit everyone, driven by measures that enhance the country’s sustainability and prosperity.
