EU-wide turnout projected to be 51%

“A positive sign for democracy,” says the European Parliament’s spokesperson.

On the basis of the estimates gathered from the EU member states so far, the turnout for the European elections is being projected to be 51%, slightly larger than the 50.66% registered in the last election, in 2019.

“This is a positive sign for European democracy,” Jaume Duch, the Director-General for Communication of the European Parliament and its Spokesperson told the international press in Brussels.
