Fixing the flaws?

The 'Kafè Ewropa' radio talk show signs off on Friday with engaging conversations on the electoral process, the role and vision of Malta's new S&D MEPs, and the department that serves as the backstage to the Maltese government's work on EU matters.

What went right and what went wrong in the way the electoral process functioned in relation to the 8th June European elections in Malta? What adjustments could be made moving forward? Sandro Mangion, editor of The Journal, will wrap up the Kafè Ewropa series on One Radio this Friday morning with a conversation on this subject with Joseph Camilleri, Malta’s Chief Electoral Commissioner.

Alex Agius Saliba, the Head of the Maltese delegation in the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats (S&D) in the European Parliament, will be joining the talk show fresh off his re-election as Vice President of the Group. Rounding out the Maltese perspective on the new European Parliament legislature, newly-elected MEPs Daniel Attard and Thomas Bajada will share their views too. The programme will also feature excerpts from a statement made this week by Iratxe García Pérez, who has been unanimously re-elected S&D President for the upcoming term, on the social democrat vision for Europe.

Another special guest will be Leandro Borg, Director General of the EU Coordination Department within the Ministry for Foreign and European Affairs and Trade, that acts as a central hub for all things EU-related within the Maltese government. He will elaborate on the various tasks the Department tackles, including how it supports Malta’s participation in European Summits like the one happening right now in Brussels.

The last edition of One Radio’s weekly talk show on EU-related matters will be aired live this Friday on One Radio (92.7FM) at 9am. The programme simulcasts live on One TV from 9.50am until 11am.
