From idea to action, that’s the spirit behind Pitch it to the Minister, a new initiative launched by Żgħażagħ Laburisti to give young people a direct voice in policymaking. 

The project creates an open platform where youth from all backgrounds can present their ideas and solutions directly to government ministers. 

With the aim of giving a concrete voice to young people and encouraging the new generation to take an active role in the political process, Żgħażagħ Laburisti has launched an innovative initiative titled Pitch it to the Minister.

This open discussion, taking place this Saturday, is designed to create a direct platform for dialogue between young people and government Ministers, where participants can present their ideas, proposals, and solutions on key social, environmental, and economic issues, amongst many others.

Through this initiative, Żgħażagħ Laburisti are showing that political participation is not only about discussion or criticism, but also about creative and concrete contribution.

Young people from all walks of life, students, workers, entrepreneurs, and activists, will have the opportunity to present their ideas directly to the minister and discuss how these ideas can be implemented or supported through public policy.

This experience connects political thought with tangible action, encouraging those who believe in change to become an active part of it.

The President of Żgħażagħ Laburisti, Miguel Abela, explained that “Pitch it to the Minister” is an initiative that looks towards the future.

“We want young people to move beyond being mere observers of politics and become direct participants. When a young person has an idea, there should be an open space to discuss it with those who can truly make it happen.”

Żgħażagħ Laburisti emphasised that this initiative serves as a reminder of the movement’s core values. It is a call for every young person who has an idea, project, or vision to come forward and speak up with courage and conviction, for the betterment of our country.

With Pitch it to the Minister, Żgħażagħ Laburisti are sending a clear message: the future begins with an idea, but it is shaped through action. This initiative continues to place young people at the centre of political dialogue and reminds us that every sustainable change begins with a small idea, but a powerful voice.
