The Labour Party’s national executive has announced the dates for the General Conference, during which elections will be held for Deputy Leaders and other key positions within the party administration. This conference is scheduled for 13-15 September 2024.

Elections will take place on 13 September to select the two Labour Party Deputy Leaders and other members of the party administration.

Should there be more than two candidates for the Deputy Leader positions and no candidate secures more than 50% +1 of the votes, a second ballot will be held on 14 September between the two candidates with the highest vote counts. Early voting for those unable to vote on 13 September will be available on Saturday, 7 September.

The administrative positions to be elected by the General Conference include President, Vice-President, International Secretary, and Organisational Secretary. Additionally, elections will be held for the 12 ordinary members of the National Executive, as outlined in the Labour Party Statute.

Nominations for all positions will open on Friday, 23 August, and close on Sunday, 25 August.

The Labour Party Electoral Commission will oversee the elections. The General Conference will conclude on Sunday, 15 September, with a speech by Prime Minister and Labour Party leader Robert Abela.
