“It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s… the PN in freefall yet again!?

Desperate times indeed. Knee jerk reaction, theatrics, lies, and a party in full post leadership race syndrome. The glittery enthusiasm around the new leader has long faded away, the old problems have preponderant returned to the fore, and added to it, a new degree of inexperience and presumptuousness that is leaving many open mouthed.
This time it was the turn of the PN’s Home Affairs spokesperson to go creative, believe it or not, about a very sensitive police drug raid that is still the subject of open proceedings.
Instead of staying silent, which is the least the opposition could do in the face of such sensitive operations, they chose to lie. They went far enough to allege that Minister Byron Camilleri tried to blame a Magistrate in connection with a case about which allegations were being made.
On Wednesday evening, Minister Byron Camilleri requested a ruling from the Speaker of the House, and it is now confirmed that the PN has once again entangled itself in lies.
New way of doing politics our foot….The PN is in full free fall that with even the hardest critics of Bernard Grech starting to miss him.
The Communication Office of the Nationalist Party has now been ordered by the Speaker of the House to immediately remedy the situation.
It was also noted that unfaithful reports of Parliament’s procedures are to be treated as contempt of Parliament. The Speaker added that the test he did was whether what was reported in the media amounted to a false or distorted report. And the conclusion was clear!
What is being done is disrespectful to Parliament, to the people of Malta, but in this case to the silent heroes within the police force that risk their lives on a daily basis while fighting crime.
