Prime Minister and Labour Leader Robert Abela has said that a Labour Government will invest 130 million euros in new ships for the Gozo Channel, including a service dedicated solely to exporting merchandise between the two islands. Interestingly, the theme of connectivity will also extend to aviation, as we will also be seeing an introduction of an air taxi between the two islands.

Addressing a Mass Rally in Xagħra, Gozo, Abela said that a Tal linja on demand service will be tailored for Gozo. The new fast ferry service from Sliema and Bugibba will also form part of the improved connectivity Labour plan.

While on the subject of transport, Abela said that those who study or work will receive 800 euros a year through a sustainability transportation scheme.

Abela said that certain proposals for Gozo came from the thoughts of Gozo’s youth and activists who share our vision for a Gozo that is strong, dynamic and true to its identity. These intended visions come out of a carefully devised set of one hundred proposals that show a renowend commitment from the Labour Party to Gozo.

In this respect, a re-elected Labour Party will initiate chemotherapy and immunotherapy services within Gozo General Hospital as a new robotic pharmacy to prepare chemotherapy treatment at the Gozo General Hospital will be part of Labour’s health plan.

Any student who has had to make the journey from Gozo to Malta knows all too well the anxiety of not having easily accessible study spaces. In this respect, Abela has made one clear promise: after the 30th of May, works will kick-start to build study spaces on the island so that students have the necessary tools and environment to excel.
