Families are the foundation of a strong society, and supporting them means investing in the next generation, while easing the challenges of everyday life.

This is exactly what the Labour Party is delivering: a comprehensive package of measures designed to support families as they grow, adapt, and build a better future.

Housing support will be strengthened through Our Next Home, helping families with more than one child move into larger homes, with the flexibility to benefit from the scheme more than once as their needs evolve.

Family leave will also improve significantly, with 26 weeks of maternity leave, one month of paternity leave, and six months of Government-paid parental leave, alongside an additional 28 days of flexible leave between parents.

Financial support will increase through a €5,000 Birth Bonus per child, with payments starting during pregnancy, as well as further boosts to Children’s Allowance and In-Work Benefits, particularly for lower-income families.

Investment in IVF services will continue to expand, offering support to more families, while a national campaign will promote the sharing of parenting responsibilities.

Together, these measures reflect a clear commitment: to support families not just at one moment in time, but throughout every stage of their journey.
