Canada secured the first World Cup point in their history after battling back to earn a 1-1 draw against Bosnia-Herzegovina in Toronto.

The co-hosts dominated large spells of the match but were left frustrated by wasteful finishing and resilient Bosnian defending. Bosnia-Herzegovina took the lead in the first half when Lukic powered home a close-range header from a corner.

Canada created several opportunities before the break, but Jonathan David and Tani Oluwaseyi both failed to convert excellent chances. The pressure intensified after halftime, with Bosnia-Herzegovina producing two remarkable goal-line clearances through Kolasinac and Katic to preserve their advantage.

Just when it appeared Canada would be left empty-handed, substitute Cyle Larin made an instant impact. Only 121 seconds after coming off the bench, the Southampton striker fired home from inside the penalty area to spark celebrations in Toronto and secure a deserved point for Jesse Marsch’s side.

Despite being held to a draw, Canada’s persistence paid off as they claimed a historic first-ever World Cup point in front of their home supporters.
