SportMalta’s Let’s Move Malta Winter Programme 2026/27 is officially open for bookings, offering a wide range of sporting and physical activity opportunities for children, teenagers and adults across Malta and Gozo. The Winter Programme will run from 12 October 2026 until 30 April 2027. This year’s programme continues to build on SportMalta’s commitment to making sport and physical activity more accessible to people of all ages and abilities, with a wide variety of activities taking place across:

• Cottonera Sports Complex

• Tal-Qroqq Sports Complex

• Kirkop Sports Complex

• Marsa Sports Complex

• Maria Assumpta Sports Complex

• Mosta Centre

• Gozo – GISAP (Gozo Indoor Sports & Aquatic Pavilion)

Together with access to excellent sporting facilities, SportMalta places strong emphasis on the quality of coaching. Qualified coaches guide participants throughout their sessions, helping them develop their skills, confidence and knowledge while creating clear opportunities for progression. For many participants, Let’s Move Malta can be an important stepping stone towards taking their chosen sport to the next level.

More Opportunities for Adults A major development for the coming winter will be the introduction of morning fitness and aqua fitness sessions at the Cottonera Sports Complex. These new sessions will provide additional opportunities for adults to remain active and incorporate physical activity into their weekly routine. Adults will also be able to participate in existing activities such as aqua fitness, fitness and the 0to-5km programme.

For the 2026/27 season, SportMalta is also introducing Let’s Move Malta Together. This new initiative will give participants the opportunity to walk or jog at the Mosta Centre during SportMalta programme hours, encouraging people to incorporate regular physical activity into their daily lives in a simple, accessible and enjoyable way.

Introducing Children to Sport from an Early Age

The programme caters for children from as young as two-and-a-half years old through the popular Parent and Child Programme. Designed as an introduction to movement and physical activity, the programme focuses on developing fundamental motor skills in a fun and engaging environment, helping young children develop an early and positive relationship with sport and physical activity.

Gymnastics Continues to Grow

Gymnastics will once again feature prominently in the programme. One of SportMalta’s most sought-after sporting activities, gymnastics will be available at Cottonera, Mosta and the stateof-the-art gymnastics facility at the Marsa Sports Complex. Under specialised coaching, participants will have the opportunity to develop their coordination, flexibility, strength, balance and confidence, while progressing through the sport in a safe and structured environment.

A Wide Variety of Sports for Children

There will also be a wide selection of activities for children and young people, including the popular three-hour Saturday Various Sports and Swimming Programme, alongside basketball, athletics, volleyball, swimming, badminton and other sporting activities. The programme is designed to give young participants the opportunity to try different sports, develop new skills and discover activities they may wish to pursue further.

Teen Programme Returns

For teenagers, the Teen Programme returns with an energetic and varied format. Participants will take part in weekly events at different locations, with the opportunity to experience a different sport or physical activity each week. The programme is designed to keep teenagers active while exposing them to a wide range of sporting experiences in an enjoyable and social environment.

SportMalta Hubs

Another key element of the Winter Programme will be SportMalta’s Sports Hubs, providing participants with the opportunity to focus on specific sports under the guidance of specialised coaches. This year’s Sports Hubs will include weightlifting, squash, snooker, gymnastics and badminton, while bowling will be introduced as a new addition to the programme. The Sports Hubs provide participants with an opportunity to develop their skills in greater depth and potentially progress towards taking their chosen sport to a more advanced level.

Sport for Everyone

With programmes ranging from early childhood activities to adult fitness and specialised sports, the Let’s Move Malta Winter Programme 2026/27 aims to provide opportunities for everyone to become more active, discover new sports and develop lifelong healthy habits. With more locations, new activities and a continued focus on accessibility, SportMalta is once again encouraging the public to make sport and physical activity part of their weekly routine throughout the winter months.
