The Global Dance Open is one of the leading international dance competitions, bringing together young dancers from around the world and giving them the chance to perform in front of top industry professionals.

Last weekend, the Global Dance Open semi finals took place in Malta, with hundreds of dancers aged 5 to 18 taking to the stage across a wide range of age groups and dance genres.

Many local dancers and dance schools achieved excellent results, with a strong number successfully progressing to the finals, showcasing the depth of talent and potential across the island.

The Global Dance Open 2026 Finals will take place in San Sebastián, Spain, from 14 to 19 July 2026, hosted across the Kursaal Congress Centre and the Victoria Eugenia Theatre. The finals bring together qualifiers from around the world and represent the highest level of the competition, with opportunities for scholarships, awards, and invitations to exclusive workshops and training programmes led by international industry professionals.

This progression marks an important milestone for Malta’s young talent, highlighting both the strength of local dance training and the growing opportunities the performing arts continue to open for the next generation.
