Norway, France, and Mexico all won their round of 32 matches in the World Cup and qualified for the last 16 stage.

Norway beat Ivory Coast 2–1 in a close match. Ivory Coast started well and had more of the ball early in the game, but Norway scored first through Antonio Nusa, who made a curling shot that the goalkeeper could not stop. Ivory Coast continued to try to score and improved in the second half. Their efforts paid off when Amad Diallo came off the bench and scored an equaliser with a strong individual effort. After that goal, both teams had chances, and the game looked like it might go to extra time. However, in the 86th minute, Norway scored again. Sander Berge sent a cross into the box, and Erling Haaland finished it from close range. That goal decided the match and sent Norway into the last 16, where they will play Brazil.

France also had a comfortable win, beating Sweden 3–0. France controlled most of the match from the start. Kylian Mbappe scored twice and played a major role in his team’s attack. His first goal came in the first half after he moved past defenders and finished from a good position. Sweden struggled to create chances and only had a few shots on target during the game. In the second half, France continued to dominate. Michael Olise played well and helped set up attacks. He assisted Bradley Barcola for France’s second goal, which was a strong shot into the top corner. Mbappe later scored his second goal by finishing a passing move with a shot into the far corner. With this win, France moved into the next round and will play Paraguay.

Mexico also reached the last 16 after a 2–0 win over Ecuador. The match was delayed at the start due to bad weather, but once it began, Mexico played better. They started the game with high energy and put pressure on Ecuador’s defence. Julian Quinones scored the first goal after moving into space on the left side and finishing into the top corner. Before half-time, Mexico scored again. Quinones provided the assist this time, passing the ball to Raul Jimenez, who scored from close range. Ecuador found it difficult to respond because Mexico kept control of the ball and defended well when needed. In the final moments of the match, Ecuador’s frustration grew, and defender Piero Hincapie was sent off after an incident with an opponent. Mexico kept their lead until the end and secured their place in the next round. If England win their next match, they may face Mexico in the last 16.

Overall, all three winning teams showed strong control in different ways. Norway relied on a late goal to win a tight match. France were in full control and won easily with strong attacking play. Mexico used early pressure and teamwork to secure their victory. All three teams now move on to the next stage of the competition, where matches will become more difficult.
