The love for horses and donkeys in Malta is rooted in a rich and historic tradition. The British period later introduced a variety of equine sports, further enriching Malta’s equine culture.

On 4th and 5th October 2025, EquestriMalta — the government entity responsible for equine sports — will host Fiera Zwiemel, an exciting event that highlights various disciplines such as Dressage, Show Jumping, and Arena Polo. A parade showcasing rare and beautiful carriages will also take place, demonstrating exceptional driving skills rarely seen elsewhere.
