The National Executive of the Labour Party has decided which districts will be vacated by Members of Parliament who were elected on two districts in the 2026 General Election

The decision was taken during the first meeting of the Labour Party’s National Executive following the election, held jointly with the Parliamentary Group.

Through a secret vote, the National Executive determined the districts from which each of the MPs elected on two districts will step aside, paving the way for the next stages of the parliamentary process.

Prime Minister Robert Abela, who was elected from the Second and Fifth Districts, will give up the seat on the Second District.

Chris Fearne, elected from the Third and Fourth Districts, will give up the seat on the Third District.

Ian Borg, elected from the Sixth and Seventh Districts, will give up the seat on the Seventh District.

Clyde Caruana, elected from the Second and Eighth Districts, will give up the seat on the Eighth District.

Clifton Grima, elected from the Ninth and Tenth Districts, will give up the seat on the Ninth District.

Michael Falzon, also elected from the Ninth and Tenth Districts, will give up the seat on the Ninth District.

Miriam Dalli, elected from the Fifth and Eleventh Districts, will give up the seat on the Eleventh District.

Jonathan Attard, elected from the Fourth and Twelfth Districts, will give up the seat on the Twelfth District.

The decision follows Labour’s historic fourth consecutive electoral mandate and forms part of the formal process leading to the completion of the parliamentary group for the new legislature.
