‘DJ Ryan brought joy to many’

PM Robert Abela has extended his condolences on the passing of Ryan Spiteri and the other victim who both lost their lives in last night’s tragic accident.

He said Ryan was not only a DJ who brought joy to so many through his music, but also someone I had the opportunity to speak with on several occasions, together with Giorgia and Lydia. He struck me as a person of genuine humility and remarkable energy.

However, Abela warned that this tragedy should also remind us of the responsibility we all share in the way we use our words, particularly on social media.

“Before engaging in speculation of any kind, we must consider the impact our words can have on families experiencing the most painful moments of their lives.

“In times like these, truth, respect, and our shared sense of humanity must always come before everything else,” he concluded.
