During a meeting with Gozo’s business community, Prime Minister and Labour Party Leader Robert Abela underscored the importance of Gozo as a national priority and a region that must continue developing into a model of modern and sustainable prosperity.

He referred to the progress achieved in recent years, highlighting the creation of more economic opportunities, increased investment, and growing confidence among Gozitan businesses in the local economy. He also noted that tourism in Gozo has continued to expand throughout the year, with increases in both visitor numbers and spending, including during traditionally quieter periods.

The Prime Minister stressed that the Government has continued strengthening support for Gozitan businesses through targeted incentives and measures designed to address the island’s specific challenges, including subsidies and schemes aimed at reinforcing economic stability.

Dr Abela also reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to improving connectivity between Malta and Gozo, including investment in maritime services and enhancements to the fast ferry service, alongside strategic infrastructure projects intended to strengthen Gozo’s potential in emerging sectors.
