SRT hangar: a celebration of aviation sector success

The inauguration of the SR Technics’ hangar was in a way a celebration of the (aviation) sector’s success and an additional ray of hope of optimism contributing to Malta’s ever growing economic activities. Karmenu Vella, chairman of the Aviation Advisory Committee, and Former European Commissioner said this during yesterday’s episode of theDailySpot, theJournal.mt’s daily analysis of the 2022 electoral campaign.

On Thursday, PM Robert Abela inaugurated SRT’s new €42 million six-bay state-of-the art MRO hangar.

Karmenu Vella said that this hangar is one of the best, if not the best in Europe. He explained that aviation is a very demanding, yet a very rewarding sector. It requires best service delivery to customers. One needs to deliver on deadlines, cost and standards.

“I am certain that SR technics will continue to deliver on these commitments, thanks to the best facilities, the best skilled workers and also the full support of Government,” he said.

Vella added that Government’s conscious decision to support the aviation sector is paying back and this project has shown that cooperation between government and stakeholders can go a long way.
