Confusing right? So are the PN’s proposals – in substance and numerically. So far the Nationalist Party has presented figures, computations and costings that have left analysts bewildered. Even the most simple of arithmetical multiplications are incorrect.

Be it their proposed changes to energy pricing, the capital costs of the environmentally concerning marine fuel station project, and to top it all up, the figures that matter the most to the electorate – those related to taxation and financial regimes – are grossly incorrect. 

Seeing Adrian Delia in full camera view covering the microphone whispering suggested answers to a clueless looking Opposition Leader is painful.

Is the Opposition presenting incorrect figures intentionally to create confusion and deviate from the positive and robust campaign of the Labour Party? Is it incompetence? A mix of both? Or is the Opposition Leader being undermined internally, with specific PN factions giving incorrect figures to Alex Borg’s campaign team intentionally.

For the electorate, having answers to these questions is very important, but it is not what matters most. The most concerning aspect here is that so far no one knows what the PN intends to do, and even worse so how it intends to do it.

The PN has not used its years in Opposition to rebuild itself into an alternative government. It has spent its energies on infighting, and on countless crusades of equally destructive behaviour.

Malta needs positive energy, a Labour Government that can continue offering stability, with a level headed experienced Prime Minister, supported by a team that is united around him. A Government that irrespective of any other consideration and circumstance, will continue to put Malta and the well being of its people, above everything else.
