A new publication celebrating Malta’s long and fascinating relationship with milk has been launched, offering readers an in-depth look at the history, science and cultural heritage behind one of the country’s oldest food traditions.

The milk industry in Malta dates back to the Phoenicians. For those interested in the evolution of this sector, the Malta Food Agency has launched a book that beautifully documents the history, scientific developments and cultural heritage of Malta’s milk industry, preserving an important part of our national story and celebrating the traditions that shaped the local food sector.

“Il-Ħalib: Storja, Xjenza u Kultura” is published under the patronage of Her Excellency Myriam Spiteri Debono. Copies are available for €40, with all proceeds going to the Malta Community Chest Fund. It also makes a thoughtful Christmas or birthday gift, or a meaningful keepsake for anyone who appreciates Maltese heritage. A discount is available when purchasing more than one copy.
