With 1,205 passionate supporters cheering them onm the highest attendance ever recorded for a women’s football match in Malta, Manuela Tesse’s side rose to the occasion, defeating Cyprus 1-0 to seal their place in Europe’s second tier with a game to spare.

Haley Bugeja, one of Malta’s brightest stars, lit up the stadium with a stunning solo goal just before halftime. It was her 24th goal in her 40th appearance, edging her closer to Dorianne Theuma’s national scoring record. Though Bugeja will miss the final match against Andorra due to suspension, her impact on this campaign has been nothing short of inspirational.
