Wellbeing and Stability – Prime Minister Robert Abela participated in an energetic Lounge Discussion in Birgu

On the third day of the campaign, the Prime Minister participated in an energetic Lounge Discussion in Birgu. The event brought together Malta’s leadership, experts, and the general public to talk about Malta’s future. A key theme of the event was how a strong economy is allowing Government to support people at every stage of life, and this with special attention to young people and their aspirations.

Prime Minister Robert Abela immediately drew a contrast with the Opposition. Whilst noting that the price of oil continues to dominate headlines, Malta, contrary to what has been advocated by the opposition on multiple occasions, continued to guarantee stability.
The very fast flowing discussion also covered several new initiatives designed to help young people start their careers, buy their first home, and enjoy better quality of life. Some of these groundbreaking measures are covered here (LINK: https://thejournal.mt/labour-sets-the-tone-your-wellbeing-is-the-priority/)
Details were also given on free Gym and Swimming Lessons with a special focus on people with conditions like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s, and swimming lessons will be offered to all children aged 3–5, starting with those with autism.
The event’s speakers emphasised that Malta’s strong economy allows for investment in young people’s success. The government’s vision is to be with you at every step, helping you achieve your dreams and making Malta a place where life is easier, brighter, and better.
Under Labour, Malta is investing in its youth, offering practical support and opportunities to help you build your future. Whether you’re starting your career, buying your first home, or looking for ways to grow and learn, these new initiatives are designed to make your journey enjoyable and more rewarding. The Government is ensuring that your aspirations are at the heart of Malta’s plans, because your success is Malta’s success.
