As the PN scrambles for relevance, its latest “breaking story” about a supposed emergency Labour Party meeting turns out to be nothing but smoke and mirrors. Meanwhile, Alex Borg’s contradictions continue to make headlines for all the wrong reasons.

Yeah, we can’t use bad words, but you get what we mean.

Today, the PN’s dwindling attempt at a news outlet, Net News, had everyone shaking in awe at their big “investigative” breaking story: according to them, the Labour Party Executive was set to meet with urgency.

For starters, we genuinely hope people have better things to worry about than the Labour Party’s routine meetings. But what really beggars belief is how they tried to frame it as an emergency gathering to discuss a survey result — one that, mind you, places Prime Minister Robert Abela a solid 12.5 percentage points ahead of Alex Borg.

They called it urgent. You know what that means? There’s a new “prodigy” in town, and suddenly the world as we know it must come to a halt while every force gathers to discuss him.

Except, it’s all fake news.

The meeting was actually announced on 1 October 2025, a full ten days ago.

Since then, Alex Borg seems to have forgotten about his enthusiasm for towers in Gozo. He’s now proposing a constitutional amendment that could threaten almost every hobby in Malta under the pretext of environmental protection. He even floated the idea of turning Malta into Ibiza. Apparently, we have a lot to learn from the Balearic tourism model. He claimed that the average salary in Gozo is half that of Malta, when in fact it’s actually higher.

And that’s not even the full list.

Dr Borg, perhaps it’s best to focus on getting your brother into the PN Executive because Delia seems to be doing just fine with his partner.
