What do our readers think about the narrative that the Nationalist Party is ready to govern as of next Monday?

The electorate, across different demographic strata, is seeing the stark contrast between the politics of credibility offered by the Labour movement and the  jamboree politics of illusions and mistakes offered by the Nationalist Party.

Youth, students and workers have by now had ample opportunity to see how policies and project implementation must be backed by facts and logic. It is much easier to sit idle in the opposition benches than managing the country’s apparatus. First time voters are realising already from the academic benches and training experiences that what they have seen from the Labour movement during this campaign is much more credible than the ‘Nifs Gdid’ illusionary approach.

The stark choice between Labour and Nationalist boils down to who is more credible and competent to manage Malta and Gozo in the years ahead. It is very easy to over promise everything to everyone during an election campaign and then face the consequences of this rhetoric later. This is what the Nationalist have stood for in this campaign.

Labour was pragmatic to provide an economic model that provides investor confidence, maintains economic momentum and shields families, pensioners, youth and households. The risks and uncertainties emanating from abroad are being carried by the Government so that Malta remains stable and makes its very strong economy deliver meaningful wellbeing. Stability and continuity remain essential in a fragile global economy where uncertainty can negatively affect businesses and workers alike.

Malta requires leadership grounded in realism, credibility and stability. All provided by Prime Minister Robert Abela and his diverse team. The PN has put forward vague narratives while overpromising to an extent that even thier voter base is by now fully confused with the large numbers of contradictions and mistakes that are steadily becoming  Alex Borg’s leadership trademark.

What you do on Saturday matters.

The unprecedented level of unpreparedness and mistakes that are coming from the Nationalist camp are tarnishing their credibility, but should those mistakes be coming from the Prime Minister’s desk as of next Monday, they will have catastrophic and very consequential repercussions.

The serenity, stability and prosperity that we have become so accustomed to, from our youngest to pensioners, from workers to businesses, will be taken away in no time.

Malta is in a very good position that can be further improved with continuity.
