YOUTH AND FIRST TIME BUYERS

Labour backs youth and first-time buyers: Turning ambition into reality
Young people today are building their futures in a rapidly changing world, and whether that means buying their first home or starting a business, they deserve real support to take that next step with confidence.
Labour delivers for young people. Because details matter, and these measures show it.
At the heart of these measures is My First Home, through which the Government will lend up to 25% of a property’s value interest-free. Covering homes of up to €300,000 for single buyers and €350,000 for couples, with savings of up to €65,000 for individuals and €75,000 for couples.
Support is further strengthened through an increase in the stamp duty exemption to €300,000, saving buyers up to €12,000 and assisting families looking to upgrade. The 10% deposit scheme will also be extended to properties worth up to €300,000, while first-time buyers will receive up to €1,200 back on research and notarial costs.
Beyond housing, Labour is also backing ambition. Young entrepreneurs will benefit from mentorship programmes, while new start-ups will receive free legal assistance and exemption from Malta Business Registry fees for the first five years.
Together, these measures create a comprehensive framework that supports young people in both their personal and professional ambitions.
With these measures, Labour is delivering real opportunities for the next generation.
